These speakers really are something special. They’re clear, open and dynamic but also lusciously smooth and relaxed, with a highly convincing natural tonality and deep, powerful bass.
There are different uses for them, for example just for ambiance at home, for work in the music industry you might need another more powerful or you might just want to play online or watch movies like me.
You’re sitting down for a gaming session, and you have a choice to make. Will you use your PC’s speakers? Or will you put on a headset?
There are pros and cons for both, and depends on the kind of game you like, for example I love to play in the Casinon utan spelgräns to get some money online and I don’t usually even use them but I do love to have the speakers on when I play strategy games or war games.
So Headphones submerge you much more deeply in the sounds of the game and make directional audio cues, like footsteps, much clearer—very important in multiplayer games. They also prevent game audio from passing through your mic if you’re on voice chat. But speakers mean you aren’t completely cut off from non-game related sounds like your doorbell ringing or your dog destroying something in the next room, and they don’t make your head sweaty, either.
That’s our question this week: Do you prefer gaming with speakers or a headset? Our answers are below, and we’d like to hear yours in the comments. While we’re on the topic, here are some of our favorite headsets and the best PC speakers.
Now that’s a quote worth boasting about. This is Christian Punter from HiFi magazine HiFi-Advice in a review of our Mingus Quintet and Jorma Design No.3 and Origo cables.

We just received a brilliant review of Mingus Quintet in Korean Hi-Fi & Home Theatre magazine.
Here is a rough translation of the final paragraph:
Just as the luxurious feel and glamour of the exterior, the inside is armed with accurate detail and richness. The high-frequency tendency is natural rather than intense. It combines the clarity, detail and quick response of the mid and low range in mid-range to create a dynamic sound that accurately expresses the Martens Mingus Quintet style no matter what genre it is. As a speaker, Mingus Quintet is the ideal combination of flagship Coltrane series and mid-range Heritage line-up.
Thank you!

We just received a nice email form our great distributor in Holland:
We had extremely good feedback at this national show where 3600 visitors attended.
The setup consisted of:
Marten Mingus Quintet speakers
Bladelius Embla CD transport
Jeff Rowland Aeris DAC
Jeff Rowland Corus pre amp
Jeff Rowland Model 825 power amp
Jeff Rowland PSU power storage unit for Aeris/Corus
Stillpoints ESS rack and Ultra 6 resonance control devices
Jorma Prime and Statement cables
Alluxity streamer
And of course the sound was brilliant!
Thank you Hans!

Welcome to The Munich High End Show 2016!
The room has been full pretty much all the time and we’ve had so much great feedback. A lot of mentions of having the best sound at the show.
And here’s the world premiere for our brand new speaker: Mingus Quintet!
Pretty handsome isn’t it:)
As usual we use Solid Tech benches for the electronics
with the latest DAC from MSB – Select DAC II
and the MSB Signature Transport
To get nice and pure electricity, we have a GigaWatt Power Conditioner.
And this is what we use for most of the music playing, the Aurender Hard Disk Player
All the Amps come from Analog Domain, great in combination with Mingus Quintet.
Mingus Quintet with the same mid driver and tweeter as in Coltrane Supreme 2.
All cables are from Jorma Design as usual.
Analog Domain Artemis.
There’s also a Mingus Quintet in walnut in the other corner of the room,
And at last the new brochures arrived, straight from the printer. Better late than never. Check it out here.
