Excellent review

Our Mingus Quintets were reviewed by Finnish HiFi magazine Hifimaailma and it seem to have been a rave review, Just listen to a few of the translated quotes:

sophisticated – faithful to the original – one of the best I have heard

Quintet is an impressive one. You should try this.

Many thanks!

Great Company Portrait from German Stereo Magazine. Have a read on page 34. Also worth to mention is that the room acoustics are made by SMT.

Mingus Quintet and Jorma Design review

These speakers really are something special. They’re clear, open and dynamic but also lusciously smooth and relaxed, with a highly convincing natural tonality and deep, powerful bass.

Mingus Quintet

Now that’s a quote worth boasting about. This is Christian Punter from HiFi magazine HiFi-Advice in a review of our Mingus Quintet and Jorma Design No.3 and Origo cables.

Check it out here!

“An all out and cutting edge loudspeaker system”

We can’t but agree on this quote about our mighty Coltrane 3 from the latest issue of Japanese Stereo Sound. We had some of the quotes translated for us and it’s high scores all around.

“It achieves an excellent signal-to-noise ratio to the ear, remarkably sharp focus with sophistication”

“It also delivers extraordinary linear characteristics throughout its extraordinary wide range”

High Score!

Sound Quality: 92%!

Very high score received for our own recording, Supreme Sessions 2 from Ken Kessler at HiFiNews.co.uk.

Here is the review in full:

Supreme Sessions 2 Marten Recordings (no catalogue number) A gold sticker on the sleeve says it all: ‘A true audiophile recording! Ballads, Jazz and Classical Music, recorded live in studio with two mics only!’ Ordinarily, this would have be heading for the hills, but it comes from the Swedish speaker company, Marten, and what they’ve assembled is a terrific demo disc – not something you would sit and listen to for pleasure, but a treat for showing off your system. Especially useful are tracks like the percussive ‘Dance, Drums, Dance’, sort of like Kodo via Stockholm, ‘Rosetta’ with its ragtime brass and even some banjo, plenty of Bela Bart6k for those so inclined and even a couple from the Great American Songbook.

KK Sound Quality: 92%

Amazing Mingus Quintet review

We just received a brilliant review of Mingus Quintet in Korean Hi-Fi & Home Theatre magazine.

Here is a rough translation of the final paragraph:

Just as the luxurious feel and glamour of the exterior, the inside is armed with accurate detail and richness. The high-frequency tendency is natural rather than intense. It combines the clarity, detail and quick response of the mid and low range in mid-range to create a dynamic sound that accurately expresses the Martens Mingus Quintet style no matter what genre it is. As a speaker, Mingus Quintet is the ideal combination of flagship Coltrane series and mid-range Heritage line-up.

Thank you!

Duke 2 award

Our beloved Duke 2 just received a great award at the Australian Sound+Image Awards 2016.
Duke 2 is Highly Commended.

Marten Heritage Duke 2

Swedish loudspeaker company Marten delivers understated beauty and solid engineering in the Duke 2, the entry point of the mid-level Heritage range. it’s an elegant mid-sized sharp-angled standmount dressed in an oh-so classy gloss veneer, standing 40cm high and priced at $11,290 in matte finishes, $11,890 in gloss, so you might guess they feature ingredients that take them beyond your run-of-the mill standmounter.

They boast high quality Accuton drivers — a 25mm ceramic tweeter and a 7-inch ceramic mid/bass driver, which combine to deliver a transient-fast and detailed sound – fast fingers on steel guitar strings showed what these drivers can do best.

There’s an ultra-clean handling oftransients and a delivery of profound levels of detail that can become addictive. The bass register proved rich and surprisingly ample, attacking quite powerfully on both acoustic and electric lines. This is a small speaker that’s huge on quality.
