In Germany, Frank Neu has built a listening room that reflects his love for music and audio gear. He shares his passion on Instagram through @soulmining, where his carefully curated setup and extensive record collection take centre stage.

Frank’s music collection is as diverse as it is well-loved. From the raw energy of A Hard Day’s Night by The Beatles to the atmospheric textures of James Blake’s Overgrown and the storytelling of Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours, each record has a place in his rotation. And there are thousands of them.

Frank’s system isn’t just about playback—it’s about experiencing music the way he wants to hear it, and his setup is built with care, each component chosen for its contribution to the sound. It’s ever-evolving, but currently his set-up looks something like this:

  • Speakers: Parker Trio in Piano Black
  • Preamplifier: Classé CP 800
  • Power Amplifier: Classé CA 2100 (40 watts in Class A, 200 watts on 8 ohms, 400 watts on 4 ohms)
  • Turntable 1: Brinkmann Audio Taurus with RöNt Power Supply
    • Tonearm: Brinkmann 12.1
    • Cartridge: EMT Pure Black
    • Phono Amp: Whest Audio PS 40 Special Edition
  • Turntable 2: Micro Seiki RX/RY1500
    • Tonearms: Wheaton Triplanar Ultimate, Mörch DP6, Sorana TA 1L, Micro Seiki CF1
    • Cartridges: Phasemation PP500, Aidas True Stone Web, EMT TSD 75 Grammy, Denon DL 103
    • Phono Amp: Mon Audio “The Monk”
  • CD Transport: Proceed PDT
  • D/A Converter: PS Audio DL III with Moll modification
  • Cables: XLR, Cinch, speaker, and power cables by ViaBlue

Frank’s listening room is designed for comfort and sound, with light from a skylight offering natural diffused light for the space. The walls are treated to refine the acoustics, ensuring that the music remains the focus.

This space is about more than just equipment—it’s where albums are rediscovered, where small details in familiar songs come alive. To see more of Frank’s collection and system in action, check out his Instagram account, where he documents his passion for music, sound, and the joy of listening.
