Oscar Duo is the subject of this latest review from Germany, and we would like to thank Finn Corvin Gallowsky for his detailed account in Hifi Statement Netmagazine. We’ve selected a few key quotes from his article (translated from German using DeepL) that highlight how our stand speaker delivers on its promise.

“Leif Olofsson, founder and head designer, has proven many times in the past that he and his team know how to work with ceramics.”

We are delighted to see our expertise recognised in the review, as Gallowsky highlights Oscar Duo’s ceramic drivers. These components are a testament to our dedication to crafting drivers that achieve both precision and musicality.

Gallowsky goes on to talk about Oscar Duo’s ability to deliver impressive results right out of the box while rewarding careful positioning with even greater performance:

“Even without precise alignment and roughly placed in my standard position, the speakers play very well. However, every minute I invest in fine-tuning their position and alignment is rewarded with an even better result.”

A standout moment in the review comes with Gallowsky’s listening experience of Désert Blanc by the Nicolas Parent Trio, a track we really enjoyed ourselves and can thoroughly recommend. He remarks:

“...I have rarely heard the guitar like this. It's amazing how much micro-detail is in the plucked guitar strings, not only in the treble but also in the mid-range. For me, this shows the strength of a hard diaphragm in its purest form.”

Oscar Duo continues to impress with its crossover design, as Gallowsky observes:

“There is flawless clarity and brilliance down to the smallest sound detail without even a hint of intrusiveness. This is certainly also thanks to the carefully selected crossover components.”

During the review, Gallowsky talks at length about the integration of the Oscar Duo custom drivers, nicely summed up here:

“To my ears, it is certainly characterised by the sound ideals of its cone material and is a high-precision, high-resolution speaker, but it can also be smooth and unobtrusive. I therefore see the Oscar as a mediator between the worlds.”

In conclusion, Gallowsky affirms:

“Although they use a more moderate amount of components in the Oscar compared to the more expensive series, there is almost no discrepancy in appearance, sound and workmanship. This is affordable high-end.”

A year in good company
