Here are the delicious stone crab claws at Joe’s we were talking about yesterday. We spent the evening there with Henry Ahn from SAEM Energy in Korea and his lovely family. They fly these claws fresh from Florida everyday. Apparently they never kill any crabs, they just nip one of their claws off every year and let it grow out again. Must be really annoying to be one of them crabs eh?

Back at the Venetian Resort in Las Vegas for CES 2012. Marten have been exhibiting for more than a decade at CES and every year is more fun than the previous. We have now opened the doors to the Marten room and the show is already busy.

Leif is setting up the brilliant electronics we use from MBS Technology.

Of course they’re placed on our own M•Furniture audio bench.

So are our M•Amp Mono blocks.

We also make use of the transparent diffusors from Svanå Miljöteknik, just like last year.

Here we are again in glimmering Las Vegas preparing for CES 2012. We have a feeling this years show will be cooler than ever with all the attention the Djangos already have had.

Very nicely styled Italian amplifiers from Absoluta. They look a bit like they could have been designed in the 1950′s.

Huge white horn speakers from German Cessaro Horn Acoustics. The sound was big, nice and airy, very suitable to the look of the speakers.

Very good sounds from another italian, Pathos Acoustics.

This sounded really cool on this huge antique cinema speaker.

Apparently Silbatone Acoustics get hold of these big old speakers and renovate them. Very suitable music.

They make multiroom home systems that can be controlled from your smart phone.

Definitely the nicest smelling room at the show, packed with roses and turntables from Transrotor.

A slight blade runner feel to this photo with awesome electronics from Solution. This is the new integrated amplifier with the new cd player.

Shiny and classy looking stuff from French Devialet. This is a class D amplifier.

These small, sleek looking things are electronics from Restek.

This is a pic from probably the most famous beer hall in Munich, Hofbräuhaus. You can see the stage in the foreground where the Oom-pah band will play every night. This place is definitely worth a visit if you’re in Munich, it’s absolutely huge with room for more than 3500 beer drinkers.

It’s been there for more than 400 years and the biergarten at the back is lovely when the weather is nice. We spent an evening there with our mates from Finland, Hifihuone. Hopefully we’ll be back there sometime soon.

We would’ve loved to go to the opera here in Munich, it’s supposed to be brilliant but there’s not enough time for that unfortunately. Maybe next time.

Across the square from the Munich Opera House there’s a proper old skool German Restaurant called Spatenhaus. They serve delicious German classics such as suckling pig, sausages, sauerkraut and white asparagus with Sauce Hollandaise. It would be impossible to leave the place hungry, as the portions are very German as well:) Our friends from China enjoyed as much as we did I think.

That was yesterday and we did survive the evening’s shenanigans so this morning we had a look at these few rooms.

This is Genelec’s very Scandinavian looking room, a nicely stylish space with very good sounding active monitor speakers.

This is where their factory is located. If I were to ever work at a factory I would love for it to be there.

Fridge sized horn speakers from Acapella. Big and impressive sounding.

Here is beautiful The Lars tube amplifiers together with the rather sizable and interesting looking horn speakers from Absolue Creations.

This room had a really nice and calm feel to it as well as great sounds.

The Wilson Audio room had their only light source from the glass roof which made for a really nice and mellow look.

They are using Emm Labs CD source.

Voxativ monolithical speakers. Rather impressive.

Today’s fave record has been ‘We are the Robots’ with Kraftwerk. Every time our room is empty we put this on really loudly and soon enough the room is starting to fill up again:) It sounds awesome. Very suitable when in Germany.

These are the new, rather cool looking, liquid cooled tube amplifiers from Audio Power Labs.

This room was very enjoyable. EmmLabs, PassLabs and Sony had this awesome multichannel setup with IsoMic recordings from Kimber. It really sounded as if you where there, in a live audience. All reverb from the instruments and audience noises were all around you. Brilliant!

We went downstairs again and in the Octave electronics room, we listened to some nice sounds in the afternoon sun light.

This is almost about it from CES, there might be a little more. We really look forward to next year.
