I know it’s only been about us so far but it’s only because we have been so busy in our own room that we haven’t been able to leave it. Here is the whole set up with the Mono Power Amplifiers, the Coltrane 2 on our new Audio Furniture. It does look pretty impressive eh?

In fact we’re still in Las Vegas, Nevada, having fun at the amazingly big CES 2011 show.

Our first guests of the first day, Mike and Neli form Audio Federation.

Yesterday evening we had a bit of a release party for our new products and here is Leif wishing our US distributor Dan Meinwald (E.A.R. USA) happy birthday.

This is not Leif singing an opera aria, he’s actually presenting his new Coltrane 2 and M•Amp Mono Power Amplifier.

And here is Patrik Boström, creator of the AMS Technology that is used in the amplifier. He’s seen through the rather sleek looking diffusors that really improves the sound quality in this quite small room. They come from Svanå MiljöTeknik, Sweden.

We have a lot more to show and tell and will be back soon.

First of all, I would like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year! We missed the celebrations here in Las Vegas and apparently all the casinos tried to out do each other’s fire works display so I can imagine that it was spectacular. We arrived the day before yesterday and are well excited about tomorrow’s show, CES 2011.

Jörgen and Therese were working hard with the new acrylic glass diffusors and the sleek GAD/Marten audio furniture. I’ll take a few pics of the finalised room tomorrow.

This is the slightly obstructed view from our room at the Venetian that is now all set up. Leif is fine tuning everything right now and let me tell you something, it sounds pretty darn good.

I’ll be back tomorrow with a lot more stuff.

He lives in a beautiful Art Noveau style house, built at beginning of the 1900′s. Walking through room after room filled with carefully restored period features, furniture and decorations, we were impressed to say the least.

It really felt like a journey through time, until we were presented with his set-up and were snapped right back to the present.

This Dutch audiophile/music lover is probably the only person in that world that can say that Coltrane Supreme is his petite system. Here is Leif beside the massive Genesis 1.1 loudspeakers that was driven by Kondo and dCS electronics.

These are the electronics used with the Supremes: Kondo M1000 preamp, Kondo KSL dac, Kondo GAKUOH mono amps, Metronome Callisto transport, Forsell Air Reference turntable and mostly Jorma Prime cables. Very, very nice indeed .

However, we did get a load of energy back in the Kubala Sosna room in the midst of the afternoon where recording guru Jim Merod had a really nice and relaxed “show and tell”. We heard loads of anecdotes from his career and so many awesome recordings which reminded us about what this whole thing is about, music. The piece that really stuck with me was a piano recording with a pianist called Larry Fuller. Sorry to say that I can’t remember what the tune was called but this musician is definitely worth checking out. Thanks Jim for a real passionate attitude to music.

The system used was our Birds with E.A.R. Electronics Acute CD-player, 890 mono blocks, Veloce battery powered tube pre amplifier and of course Kubala Sosna cables.

Before that we went to the Bladelius room and had a listen to the new Getz loudspeakers with their new

power amplifier Ask.

In the Vitus Audio room the Coltrane Momentos were playing with Vitus Electronics, Bergmann air bearing turntable and Purist Audio Design cables.

The system we used this year was our brand new “Getz”, E.A.R. Acute CD-player, Dic Master turntable, 912 pre amp, 509 mono blocks and of course Jorma Design new Origo cables.

We also met Adrian Bankewitz from Thiel & Partner/Accuton that produces the ceramic driver units for our loudspeakers

as well as Henry Ahn, our new distributor in Korea who joined us later for a pre-amp sized steak at Ghallager’s famous steak house.

It’s funny in Vegas, without windows and clocks anywhere, you can spend a whole lot of time indoors without any idea of what time of the day it is. When you finally walk outside you are shocked to find a beautiful day with blinding sunlight…

and then you go straight back indoors.

Anyway, finally everything at The Venetian came together and the show opened as scheduled. With audiophiles queueing to the unbelievably fast lifts, bottled water that doubled in price since the day before and loads of brilliant sounding systems playing good music there was a really nice buzz.

It was busy all day in the stylish Engstrom & Engstrom room and as promised, here are some more pics.

World premiere at the Shantou Audi Trade Fair

Here we are then, in Shantou, at the HiFi Show with the latest success from Marten. The brand new reference model that fits right in between Coltrane and Coltrane Supreme, Coltrane Momento. Six active drivers, four passive drivers, diamond tweeters, pure ceramic mid range drivers and the new Accuton ceramic sandwich membrane that is nearly unbreakable. These bass drivers have been used for first time ever, by any loudspeaker manufacturer. Coltrane Momento has proved to be a huge success, with several orders, even before the premiere. There has already been a lot of interest at this big, well-organised and interesting HiFi Show.

This is how they show new loudspeakers in China.
