The reason I was here was for the Hi-End show that is held yearly in March. The show was at the big Ambassador Hotel downtown in Kaohsiung.

The surrounding was lovely and the weather was nice with a temperature of 25-30 degrees C, especially when compared with Sweden that had -5 degrees C and snow at the same time.

I was invited by Mr Lee from Genesis Audio, our dealer in Kaohsiung and Soundray Electronics, our distributor in Taiwan.

We were playing with our new Coltrane Momento in Walnut finish, double ASR Luna 8 amplifiers in bi-amping mode, Bladelius Gondul M LE dsic-player and Jorma Design Prime cabling. It was a fairly big room of 50 sqm and quite nice acoustics and I must say the sound was very nice.

He lives in a beautiful Art Noveau style house, built at beginning of the 1900′s. Walking through room after room filled with carefully restored period features, furniture and decorations, we were impressed to say the least.

It really felt like a journey through time, until we were presented with his set-up and were snapped right back to the present.

A rather nice setting for the Coltrane Supremes, don’t you think?

This Dutch audiophile/music lover is probably the only person in that world that can say that Coltrane Supreme is his petite system. Here is Leif beside the massive Genesis 1.1 loudspeakers that was driven by Kondo and dCS electronics.

These are the electronics used with the Supremes: Kondo M1000 preamp, Kondo KSL dac, Kondo GAKUOH mono amps, Metronome Callisto transport, Forsell Air Reference turntable and mostly Jorma Prime cables. Very, very nice indeed .

Erik Andersson and Ola Hesselvall, demonstrated their latest amplifier project: The Dream. This has been legendary audio designer Erik’s dream for many years and he has really put all of his experience and heart into it.

The tube amplifier has direct heated triodes (Russian GM70) which are unusually powerful for being single ended (40W). The setup was really something, with our new reference model Coltrane Momento, Jorma Prime cables, Bladelius Embla CD-player, EAT Forte turntable, Helius Omega 12″ tone-arm, Einstein Audio TU3 cartridge and Einstein Audio “Little Big Phono” phonostage.

The furniture used was G.A.D.-Marten. By that we mean the audio furniture and not the brand of the sofa we sat on. And no, it’s not from IKEA:)
