the Marten Coltrane Supreme 2´s real success will not be measured in sales, but in the influence in exerts over the Marten range, and – in a wider perspective – the whole high-end loudspeaker market. It´s that important!
There’s a great article in the HiFi+ Loudspeaker Special, Issue no 123 of the UK magazine. Written by former editor in chief Roy Gregory and current editor in chief Alan Sircom. It’s all about our company and especially Coltrane Supreme 2.
We were lucky to get some shots of the room yesterday before we opened otherwise it’d have been impossible. There has been a constant crowd hindering the view Leif is playing a crazy mix of tunes, everything from Rock with Jimi Hendrix , Jazz with Hiromi and Beethoven with Lang Lang to Electronica with James Blake and Blues with Junior Wells. It all sounds great!
We will be going on playing music until 6pm on Sunday. You are very welcome to room F214 in Atrium 4.
It sounds amazing!
We’re longing for Munich. It’s been a year already. Good job we will be there soon, and we have some amazing new stuff for the Munich High End Show. We’ll be back soon.
the Bird 2 is one of the finest examples of successful R&D in the world of loudspeakers
This is a real interesting video showing what’s actually deleted from a sound file when it’s compressed to mp3 format. Have a listen to Suzanne Vega’s catchy hit ‘Tom’s Diner’. Or rather the leftovers.
Ph.D. student in Composition and Computer Technologies Ryan Maguire has created this rather clear picture of how much we are missing from the mp3 compressed music. No wonder it loses so much dynamism.

There are more Marten systems here in Bonn than you could ask for at the moment:) We have Coltrane Supreme 2, Coltrane Momento and Heritage Bird 2 set up and access to lots of other speakers as well. It’s been great so far and it’s not over yet. Come and see us if you are in Bonn or the area.
Our great dealer in Bonn, Germany who has Coltrane Supreme 2 on permanent display will have an open house on Saturday 7 – Sunday 8 March.
It will be presented by Matthias Böde, the renowned HiFi journalist from ‘Stereo’. He will be playing his favourite songs on Coltrane Supreme 2. It’s a great chance to hear some amazing music played on these mighty speakers.
It’s a good opportunity to listen to speakers from all of our series. Everyone is very welcome.
