Starstruck!

Leif Olofsson & Anne Bisson

Leif Olofsson & Anne Bisson

Something really cool happened today. Our friend Vital Gbezo, marketing manager for QAT, popped in today with the amazing jazz singer Anne Bisson. She played a few tracks from her album ‘Blue Mind’ and chatted a bit about her experience recording it. We were all a bit starstruck listening to this brilliantly sounding music together with the artist. A pretty special moment all together. She said that she was completely taken back to the moment of performing which we take as a really nice compliment. Thanks for stopping by Anne!

Day One

We managed to finish the room acoustics and the rest on time and this is the result!

setup1

Main setup with Coltrane Supreme 2, Dartzeel mono blocks, Jorma Design cables and SMT room acoustics.

setup2

Marten Heritage Getz 2 loudspeakers, Dartzeel integrated amp and Jorma Design cables.

It really sounds great, especially when playing our own cd release: Supreme Sessions 1.

We’ll be back soon with more details.

All pros no cons

We were always fascinated by the simplicity of the 2-way speakers, but never encountered such a solid build that so resolutely manages to bring 2-way audio to new heights.

Django L review in HiFi & Musik

Great review by Mats Meyer-Lie on Django L in Swedish HiFi & Musik. Here is the conclusion in english:

Django L can certainly produce bass, so deep that the room rattles and makes you gasp for breath. Django L is therefore one of the most versatile speakers we have heard in a long time. As comfortable with dubstep or hard rock as with acoustic jazz or frail chamber music.

I constantly found myself moved by the music instead of analysing the sound. Exactly what we all want really. A real magnificent, large scale speaker that everyone totally falls for.

Sure, they cost a pretty penny but it is a unusually victorious and well made creation, except for the german units, entirely Made In Sweden.

CES Show reports #2

A few more show reports from CES 2014:

it sounded delicately detailed, with a superbly stable rendering of the recording venue

Stereophile

I was so amazed by the sound of the Marten Coltrane Supreme 2, that I totally forgot to even check what other equipment was in the room.

Positive Feedback Part 1
Positive Feedback Part 2

Coltrane Supreme II speakers driven by Pass Labs amps sounded superb and solid.

CES Show reports #1

There are a good few show reports from CES out there, we start with linking you to Dagogo:

the tour de force Marten Supreme II system driven by Pass Xs series electronics which was clearly and by a rather wide margin the best sound I heard.

Two other knockouts were Neemi Jarvi conducting Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony and Gina Bachauer playing Beethoven’s Second Piano Concerto on a Mercury recording. In both instances, spatial information was excellent with good depth, imaging and soundstage. The sound of both piano and violin was also very natural. I wish that I had the resources to own a pair.
