Not really, it’s a German wooden horn instrument called Alphorn. Very special sound not dissimilar to a Didgeridoo. They have had a good few live acts at the first floor atrium. We’ll tell you all about it in a bit.
Yesterday was a busy day as usual here at the High End Show so it was real nice to hear some chilled tunes from solo bassist Dean Peer having our daily Weißwurst & pretzel. The beats was very soft sounding and the percussionist made use of one of those cool brazilian cube drums, Cajón. The setting might not have been the most inspiring but they didn’t seem to care, it sounded great anyway.
from CES. Even though it’s a while ago, we thought we might just write one lats post about it. We’re almost in a bit o sentimental mood now when it’s so far to the next one:)
There were a lot of interest in this recorder from Nagra. A proper geeky collectors item in our room.
Getz/Gilberto – The Girl from Ipanema. A vinyl classic that soothes our souls after busy day
German artist Petrus Wandrey (1939 – 2012), created this stereo system called ‘Venus’s Hifi’ for the Berliner Funkausstellung 1981. Rather something isn’t it? I don’t know what it sounds like but it sure looks pretty bombastic. You can buy it from Scandinavian auctioneer site Lauritz. Starting bid EUR15,000.
Would you be happy receiving this as a gift this Christmas?

Maybe we should make ads with photos of the insides of our speakers:)
We just came back from the XTZ room where we listened to singer/actress Anna-Lotta Larsson. I don’t know if she’s famous abroad but she’s very big in Sweden. She actually apologised for being amped by a Bose speaker but it sounded really good anyway. She has such a lovely voice and the guy on piano is very talented as well. Thank you for the music:)
